A new site for CK Energy

• The Project: A new website for CK Energy Services, an Australian company who operate in the oil, gas and mining sectors.
• What I Did: Web development and coding. Customisation of WordPress content management system.
• Result: The website was launched in September 2017.

Design and Development

I customised a WordPress theme to give CK Energy a modern website with a large home page image and a prominent call-to-action. The home page has other sections that can be used if required.

The site is built on the StudioPress Genesis framework which provides a reliable and relatively lightweight WordPress environment. I think it's important to use a framework that can be extended where necessary rather than a theme where everything is included. In my experience, the "kitchen sink" approach often leads to sites that are resource heavy and that's not an approach I want to take.

I configured the company's web hosting package and installed WordPress. I copied the site from a staging domain to the company's hosting web space just before launch,

The site was launched in early September 2017.
